Paupeck to be Kingsport's GM

December 21, 2012
PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- The St. Lucie Mets have announced that long-time employee Brian Paupeck has been named the general manager of the Kingsport Mets.

Paupeck, who has served as St. Lucie's manager of food and beverage operations for 10 years, will run the day-to-day operations in Kingsport.

"It's a great opportunity, and I will be able to continue to work in the Mets organization," Paupeck said. "I not only handled food and beverage operations with the St. Lucie Mets, but I learned so many other aspects of Minor League baseball that have helped prepare me for this opportunity."

Paupeck's responsibilities with St. Lucie included running stadium concessions and catering operations, overseeing concession employees, facilitating outside vendors and businesses, and coordinating company parties, suites and picnics for game-day and nongame-day events.

"Brian has been a dedicated employee and a great asset to the Mets organization," said Paul Taglieri, Mets director of Florida operations. "We are proud and excited for Brian, and wish him the best of luck with his new position."

Paupeck, a native of Northport, N.Y., is a graduate of Georgia Southern University.

Brian was a game day intern for the St. Lucie Mets in 2002, before transitioning to manager of food and beverage operations.

As the general manager with Kingsport, Paupeck will oversee all team business operations, including sales, ticketing and concessions.

The Kingsport Mets, the Rookie-level affiliate of the New York Mets, are based in Kingsport, Tenn., and play in the Appalachian League.
