Paxson wins Midwest League Trainer of the Year for second straight year

September 19, 2011
GRAND CHUTE, WI - Jeff Paxson is in familiar territory. The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers athletic trainer has been selected as the Midwest League Trainer of the Year for 2011 by the Professional Baseball Athletic Trainers Society.

The award is nothing new to Paxson. In his 18 seasons in the Milwaukee Brewers organization, Paxson has been the Trainer of the Year four other times in various leagues. He was also the PBATS's Trainer of the Year in the California League in 2000, in the Pacific Coast League in 2007, and in the Midwest League in 1997 and 2010.

The trainers of the 16 teams in the Midwest League voted on the award this year and selected Paxson for the second straight season.

Paxson is in the running for the Minor League Trainer of the Year Award with the winners from the other leagues in the National Association of Minor League Baseball. The Minor League Trainer of the Year will be announced at the 2011 Baseball Winter Meetings in December.
