Peacock Strikes Out Nine in the Senators 3-2 Win

April 22, 2011
Harrisburg, PA - Brad Peacock led the Senators to a 3-2 win over the Trenton Thunder on a cold and damp Friday night at Metro Bank Park. The Senators scored single runs in each of the first three innings to take a 3-0 lead. Peacock pitched into the 8th inning, the longest outing thus far this year by a starter.

Peacock struck out nine and allowed two hits to the Thunder. Cory VanAllen pitched 2/3 of an inning and Hassan Pena earned his first save despite giving up a two-run home run to Bradley Suttle in the ninth. Peacock struck out nine batters in each of his last two outings and he improves to 2-1.

Jesus Valdez led the Sens offense with three hits as he raises his average to .319 on the season. Tim Pahuta, the hero Thursday day, had an rbi double in the second and Tyler Moore had a two-out rbi triple in the third. It was the second triple on the season for Moore.

The Senators have now won 4 out of 5 and look for a three-game sweep on Saturday night at Metro Bank Park. RH Brad Meyers takes the mound for the Sens against LH Steve Garrison for Trenton. Game time Saturday night is 7:00 p.m. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, and on your ipad or iphone beginning with the pre-game show at 6:45 p.m.
