'08 first-rounder goes 3-for-5, drives in three runs in Peoria win

Zach Collier, Philadelphia's 2008 first-round Draft pick, went 3-for-5 with a triple and three RBIs to lead the Javelinas over the Scorpions in Peoria. The outfielder is 6-for-10 in his last three games, bringing his Arizona Fall League average to .345 in nine outings. Minnesota's Kyle Gibson moved to 3-0 with the win and lowered his AFL ERA to 0.69, scattering three hits and two walks while fanning three in three innings on his 25th birthday. No. 7 Angels prospect Travis Witherspoon hit his second Fall League homer in the sixth. Cleveland's No. 5 prospect, Ronny Rodriguez, tripled, singled and scored in the loss. Miami outfielder Kyle Jensen whacked a 450-foot grand slam and Christian Yelich went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a walk and a run scored for the Desert Dogs as they played to a draw with the Solar Sox. Nick Ahmed, Atlanta's 10th-rated prospect, also went 2-for-6 with an RBI and a run out of the leadoff spot for Phoenix. No. 17 Tigers prospect Aaron Westlake broke out of a 1-for-25 slump, going 2-for-5 with a home run, three RBIs and two runs for Mesa. Kolten Wong, St. Louis' No. 4 prospect, went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and Kansas City's Alex McClure went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI as Surprise rallied past Salt River to a 10-inning win. No. 3 Nationals prospect Brian Goodwin went 3-for-4 with a home run leading off for the Rafters while No. 12 Nats prospect Matthew Skole smacked his second longball.
