International League
Jeremy Powell, Indianapolis
2-0, 0.69 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 13 IP, 15 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 6 K
Jeremy Powell, a journeyman in the Pittsburgh organization, entered the week with a 1-3 record and an unsightly 9.50 ERA, but by the time he notched the last out of the sixth inning Sunday in his second start of the week, he'd picked up two more wins and inched his ERA back down toward earth (it sits at 5.81 now). Powell surprised the Lehigh Valley IronPigs on Monday, blanking them over seven innings while allowing five hits and three walks while striking out four. Facing Buffalo his next time out, he gave up 10 hits and a walk over six innings but limited the Bisons to three runs -- one earned -- while setting two down on strikes.

Pacific Coast League
Robert Ray, Las Vegas
1-0, 1.80 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 1 CG, 1 SHO, 15 IP, 8 H, 3 R, 3 ER, 6 BB, 10 SO
Toronto farmhand Robert Ray didn't factor in the decision of his first start of the week, a Tuesday night affair the 51s dropped in Reno to the Aces. Ray was decent over six innings, picking up six punchouts and allowing three runs on four hits and four walks. It was his next outing, though, that set him apart from all other PCL hurlers this week. He scattered four hits and a pair of walks over a nine-inning shutout against the Tacoma Rainiers on Sunday. The win, Ray's third in 2010, marks his second career complete-game shutout -- he threw one for Double-A New Hampshire in 2008.

Eastern League
David Mixon, Richmond
1-0, 1.50 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 12 SO
When David Mixon took the mound on Monday against Altoona, he was coming off a seven-inning, three-hit shutout. The possibility of a repeat evaporated when the Curve scored on a bunt-single, a balk, a sacrifice and a dribbler in front of the mound in the second inning, but the Giants prospect kept his head. Mixon limited the opposition to another run on three more hits and a walk while fanning four over five innings. On Saturday, he baffled the Senators in Harrisburg, tossing seven innings that were perfect save a first-inning double and a fifth-inning walk. He struck out eight along the way, whiffing the side in fourth. Mixon is among Eastern League leaders in WHIP (0.84), average against (.197) and ERA (2.27).

Southern League
Mauricio Robles, West Tenn
1-0, 4.09 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 11 IP, 7 H, 5 R, 5 ER, 4 BB, 15 SO
Seattle's Mauricio Robles didn't start the week looking like an award winner. Montgomery got to him for four runs on four hits and three walks in just four innings Monday. On the plus side, he fanned five Biscuits in the otherwise ugly outing. In a complete turnaround, Robles was positively dazzling in Huntsville on Saturday, piling up 10 strikeout victims while hurling seven innings of three-hit, one-walk ball. The Stars managed a run off of him, but Robles, who improved to 3-1 with a 3.30 ERA with the performance, owned the day.

Texas League
Richard Bleier, Frisco
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 1 CG, 1 SHO, 9 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 4 SO
Rangers prospect Richard Bleier only had one start this week, but he certainly made it count. Pitching against the Missions in San Antonio on Thursday, the 2008 sixth-rounder allowed a single in the first inning, a single in the fourth inning, a single in the fifth inning and was otherwise rock solid. In fact, aside from those three hits and an error by Frisco second baseman Matthew Lawson, he was perfect through the complete nine-inning game. Bleier's gem may have tasted sweeter considering it was an act of revenge -- San Antonio scored eight runs off of him and didn't let him get out of the second inning when he faced the Missions on April 26.

California League
Carlos Pimentel, Bakersfield
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12 IP, 8 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 5 K
Carlos Pimentel is quickly adjusting to pitching in the hitter-friendly Cal League. The Rangers prospect has allowed more than one run in just two of his six 2010 starts, and he cruised through his two outings this week. He beat the Visalia Rawhide with five tough innings Tuesday, scattering four hits and a couple walks while picking up a pair of strikeouts. On Sunday, he kept the Stockton Ports scoreless for seven innings, striking out three and surrendering four hits. Pimentel didn't factor in the decision of that game -- the first half of a doubleheader that the Blaze won in extra innings -- but Bakersfield fans could hardly have asked him for more.

Carolina League
Randall Delgado, Myrtle Beach
1-0, 1.50 ERA, 2 G, 2 GS, 12 IP, 8 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 3 BB, 16 K
Randall Delgado, a prospect in the Braves system, pitched two almost identically solid starts this week. He allowed one run on four hits and a walk while fanning seven in six innings of work to earn a win against Potomac on Tuesday, and he allowed one run on four hits and two walks while fanning nine in six innings of work against Lynchburg on Sunday. If the Pelicans get this kind of consistency out of the 20-year-old righty each time out, Delgado will get some attention from the Atlanta front office.

Florida State League
Kyle Kaminska, Jupiter

Marlins prospect Kyle Kaminska celebrated Cinco De Mayo with eight shutout innings against the Fort Myers Miracle on Wednesday. He struck out seven and permitted just three hits, never allowing a Miracle batter to reach second base and earning his first win at the Class A Advanced level. A late-round pick in the 2007 Draft, Kaminska sports a 4.03 ERA through his first six appearances of the season.

Midwest League
Chase Anderson, South Bend
1-0, 0.00 ERA, 1 G, 1 GS, 1 CG, 1 SHO, 7 IP, 4 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 8 K
D-backs 2009 ninth-rounder Chase Anderson got the Silver Hawks started in a doubleheader sweep of Dayton on Saturday. The righty struck out eight without issuing a walk, fanning three in a row to get out of trouble after giving up consecutive singles to lead off the second. He gave up another single in the fifth and one more in the sixth but otherwise handcuffed the Dragons. The last two of Anderson's eight K's came in the final inning of the game, so he may have had some gas left in the tank when he finished.

South Atlantic League
Matt Wickswat, Kannapolis
2-0, 0.00 ERA, 2 G, 1 GS, 10 2/3 IP, 5 H, 0 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 16 K
White Sox prospect Matt Wickswat gave up seven runs in 2 2/3 innings in his first start of the season, but he's been steadily getting on the right track since. This week's performances demonstrate his confidence, which will only improve if he keeps pitching like this. On Tuesday, he struck out six over 4 2/3 shutout innings in relief against Lexington. In his next outing, he gave up just two hits and a walk while sending 10 West Virginia hitters back to the pine on strikes over six more scoreless frames.
