Ports Announce 2010 Promotional Calendar

Several new theme nights and giveaways planned for 2010 campaign

STOCKTON, Calif. - The Stockton Ports are pleased to announce their promotional schedule for the 2010 season. The Ports have several exciting theme nights, giveaway items, performances and events planned to provide their fans with top-notch entertainment during the upcoming season, which opens at Banner Island Ballpark on April 15 at 7:05 p.m.

Further details about each promotion will be released in the week leading up to the event.

Before the 2010 season kicks off, Banner Island Ballpark will host the Sacramento River Cats on Tuesday, April 6 at 6:35 p.m. for an exhibition game. The Ports will then travel to Raley Field for a second exhibition game on Wednesday, April 7 at 6:35 p.m.

The Ports are proud to offer their fans several exciting weekly promotions during the 2010 season. Monday Madness is back at Banner Island Ballpark. For just $18, fans can get 2 Field Box tickets, 2 sodas, 2 hot dogs and 2 passes to the Haggin Museum. On Tuesday, fans can enjoy Weinerschnitzel Two-for-Tuesdays. With a coupon from an area Weinerschnitzel restaurant, fans can enjoy a Buy 1, Get 1 Free ticket deal for either the Field Box or MVP sections. Fans can also enjoy $2 tacos and $2 sodas from the Tecate Cantina at the stadium. Fans can also enjoy a Buy 1 Ticket, Get 1 Ticket Free from KRAFT Singles with purchase. On SCAN HP Silver Slugger Wednesdays SCAN HP Silver Slugger members receive free entry with their membership card. Wednesdays also feature Baseball Bingo, sponsored by Food 4 Less/Rancho San Miguel. Fans can win $100 in gift certificates to Food 4 Less, along with other great prizes, by playing Baseball Bingo. Fans can also enjoy Web Wednesdays, finding special offers on discounted tickets, merchandise and more on www.stocktonports.com and on the Ports Facebook and Twitter pages. Thirsty Thursdays are back, and fans can enjoy 16 oz. domestic beer and soda for just $2 until 8 p.m. each Thursday, except for April 15.

The Ports are rolling out a new Friday promotion, 4 for $44 Fridays. Fans can purchase 4 Field Box tickets and four $5 Splash Chips (which can be used to purchase items at the ticket office, team store or concession stands) for $44 (a $56 value!). On Sundays, take advantage of a $1 MetroPCS Home Run Hill ticket with a voucher from the MetroPCS store in College Square located on March Ln. and Pershing Ave. Sundays also feature the Everyday Eddie's Kids Club presented by SUBWAY restaurants. Kids Club members can get into every Sunday game for free (except July 4). All kids can run the bases like their favorite Ports players following every Sunday home game.

Opening Weekend, sponsored by Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel, is set to be a thrilling beginning for the Ports campaign. On Opening Night, Thursday, April 15, the Ports will be celebrating the first season of the new decade with an exciting opening ceremony, featuring post-game fireworks and thrilling entertainment. Fans will also receive a 2010 Ports magnet schedule. On Friday, April 16, the first 1,000 fans will receive a Dallas Braden jersey T-shirt and a 2010 Ports magnet schedule. On Saturday, April 17, the Ports will be hosting post-game fireworks, sponsored by Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel and fans will receive a 2010 Ports magnet schedule. Area students in the drug abuse resistance education (D.A.R.E.) program will enjoy a night out at Banner Island Ballpark on April 17. On Sunday, April 18, the first 1,000 fans will receive a Ports fist-bump set giveaway, sponsored by Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel.

The Ports will then host their first of two Education Days on Tuesday, April 20. The second Education Day will be on Wednesday, May 12. On Education Days, children from area schools can take a field trip to Banner Island Ballpark to learn about baseball through educational programs and enjoy an 11:05 a.m. game at the ballpark. For just $5, students get a ticket to the game, a hot dog, a drink and a snack. On Friday, April 30, fans can enjoy a post-game fireworks show, sponsored by Food 4 Less/Rancho San Miguel.

The Ports will open the month of May with their 3rd Annual Alumni Night on Saturday, May 1, featuring Ports alumni. The Ports will honor former players and coaches in a pre-game, on-field ceremony, and fans can meet with Alumni during the game. The Ports will be wearing retro jerseys from their time as a Milwaukee affiliate. The jerseys will be auctioned off to fans during the game. The first 1,000 fans will receive a 2009 American League Rookie of the Year Andrew Bailey bobblehead, sponsored by Lucas Business Systems.

On Sunday, May 2, Stockton will celebrate Mexican culture and heritage with a Cinco de Mayo fiesta. The afternoon will include mariachi bands, folklorico dancers and much more. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Cinco de Mayo baseball, sponsored by Ke Buena 93.9 FM. On Tuesday, May 11, the Ports will host their 3rd Bark in the Park. Canines will be welcome to the ballpark, and can participate in an on-field dog show parade, games and much more. Fans will receive a free ticket for their dog with a paid adult ticket, and will sit in an exclusive section at the stadium.

On Friday, May 21, Christopher Knight (Peter Brady) will be making a special appearance as the Ports host Salute to the Brady Bunch Night. Christopher Knight will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and sign autographs for fans. Fans can enjoy a night of Brady Bunch-themed trivia and entertainment. The Ports will also host their first of four Business Expos on May 21. The Ports will also host Business Expos on June 19, July 9 and August 20. A Business Expo presents a chance for local businesses to showcase their company on the concourse in a trade show-type atmosphere in front of thousands of people at a Ports game.

OnSaturday, May 22, the Ports will help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel, a Champion Partner of the Stockton Ports. The evening will end with post-game fireworks sponsored by Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel. On Sunday, May 23, the Ports will give away a color-in magnet to the first 1,000 fans.

The Ports will be hosting CHP Night on Friday, May 28, sponsored by the California Highway Patrol. The first 1,000 fans will also receive a Ports Baseball Cap. The Ports will end the month with Salute to the Beatles Night on Saturday, May 29. The Ports will celebrate the Fab Four with a Beatles-themed jersey. These specialty jerseys will be auctioned to fans during the game. Fans can also enjoy a fun post-game fireworks show, sponsored by Food 4 Less/Rancho San Miguel.

The Ports will kick-off the month of June with a Webkinz Giveaway for the first 1,000 fans on Friday, June 11. On Saturday, June 12, the Ports will host their 4th Annual Bike and Car Show Night, sponsored by Delta PowerSports. A pre-game motorcycle ride from Delta PowerSports will culminate with an on-field parade. Riders can also showcase their bikes in the North Lot. The car show will take place in the North Parking Lot at the ballpark from 5 p.m. to the end of the game.

The Ports will invite all area girl scouts to enjoy a game and camp out overnight in the Banner Island Ballpark outfield for Girl Scout Night on June 12. The contest on Saturday, June 12 will conclude with a post-game fireworks show, sponsored by Food 4 Less/Rancho San Miguel. On Sunday, June 13, fans can enjoy the 5th annual Root Beer Float Night, presented by MetroPCS. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Ports Anchor Fund.

Former A's great Vida Blue will be making a special appearance on Friday, June 18. He will throw out a ceremonial first pitch and will sign autographs for fans at no charge. Raider Nation will be taking over Banner Island Ballpark for Raider Nation Night on Saturday, June 19. Raiders-themed games, film clips and other entertainment will be provided for fans. Representatives from the Raiders will make an appearance during the game as well.

The Ports will host Kids Day on Tuesday, June 29. Area children and students can enjoy an 11:05 a.m. game at Banner Island Ballpark, and participate in summer camp themed games and entertainment.

The Ports will celebrate Independence Day on Sunday, July 4, sponsored by Comcast. As part of the night, the Ports players will sport a Stars & Stripes jersey, which will be auctioned off during the game. The game will be followed by a Fireworks Extravaganza presented by Comcast. Fans can enjoy fireworks again on Monday, July 5, sponsored by Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel, and on Friday, July 9.

This is the place. The Ports will celebrate Pioneer Day on Friday, July 16, with their 2nd Annual LDS Family Night. The team is proud to welcome 2-time NL MVP Dale Murphy to Banner Island Ballpark on July 16. Murphy, who played in the Majors from 1976 to 1993, was also a seven-time All-Star. He attended Brigham Young University and also served as a mission president from 1997 to 2000.

The Ports will host Salute to Cal Bears Night on Saturday, July 17. Ports players will wear a special Cal-themed jersey, which will be auctioned off to fans during the game. The first 1,000 fans will also receive a Ports Aluminum bottle, sponsored by Delk Pest Control. Baseball card collectors will want to be at Banner Island Ballpark on Sunday, July 18, as the Ports will giveaway a 2010 team card set to the first 1,000 fans.

As a part of the efforts to create a more environmentally friendly world, the Ports will Go Green on Friday, July 30. The Ports will provide a Health and Sustainability Fair-type event on the concourse. The first 1,000 fans will receive a Ports Wristband Set. On Saturday, July 31, the Ports will promote men's health by hosting Prostate Cancer Awareness Night. Fans can also see the Downtown Stockton skyline illuminated with post-game fireworks, sponsored by Food 4 Less/Rancho San Miguel that evening.

The Ports will jump start the month of August with a Ports Frisbee giveaway on Sunday, August 1 and a Ports Fleece Blanket giveaway on Friday, August 6.

On Saturday, August 7, the Ports will host Faith Night. Fans can enjoy live pre-game entertainment, player testimonials and the first 1,000 fans will receive a Grant Desme bobblehead. Desme was named the 2009 Ports Player of the Year, and was also named the 2009 Arizona Fall League Most Valuable Player. Desme was also a non-roster invitee to the Oakland A's 2010 Spring Training Camp before retiring from baseball to answer the calling to the priesthood.

On Sunday, August 8, the first 500 fans will receive a Ports Poster giveaway. On Friday, August 20, the Ports will invite all area boy scouts to enjoy a game and camp out overnight in the Banner Island Ballpark outfield for Scout Night. Also on August 20, fans can enjoy post-game fireworks, sponsored by Jackson Rancheria Casino and Hotel.

In their final homestand of the season, the Ports will salute their steadfast fans with Fan Appreciation Weekend. The first 1,000 fans will receive a fan choice player jersey replica on Friday, August 27. Fans can also enjoy Pink Day, sponsored by St. Joseph's Medical Center. The Ports will wear specialty themed jerseys that night which will be auctioned off at the game.

On Saturday, August 28, the Ports will welcome veterans from all the armed forces for their 2nd Annual Veterans Night. The event will also feature post-game fireworks, sponsored by Food 4 Less/Rancho San Miguel. The first 1,000 fans will enjoy getting a Ports Mini-Baseketball Hoop Set giveaway on Sunday, August 29. The Ports will cap Fan Appreciation Weekend on their final home game of the season on Monday, August 30.
