Pugh Is Dubbed League's Weekly Best

FORT MYERS, FL (May 17, 2010)- The Florida State League announced today that Fort Myers Miracle pitcher Bruce Pugh has been named Pitcher of the Week for May 10 -16, 2010.

The 21-year old Baltimore, Maryland native spun a gem in his only outing of the week. The Minnesota Twins' 2008 19th round draft pick threw seven shutout innings allowing one hit and striking out ten batters. He didn't factor in the decision on Friday, May 14 at Bradenton.

The third-year pro is 2-4 with a 3.40 ERA. He leads the Miracle with 47 strikeouts in 39 2/3 innings pitched. Former Miracle hurler Kyle Gibson was named FSL Pitcher of the Week for April 26-May 2.

The Player of the week is Dunedin Blue Jays Outfielder Welinton Ramirez. He had 13 hits in 24 plate appearances. His hits included two homeruns, one triple, and four doubles. He scored four times and had 14 RBI's. His batting average was .542, his on base percentage .538, and he had a 1.042 slugging average. Ramirez is in his third year of professional baseball and resides in Azua, DR.
