Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes are proud to announce that they have agreed to a two-year Player Development Contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers, which will make the Quakes the California League affiliate of the Dodgers for the 2011 and 2012 seasons.

"The Dodgers are one of the most prestigious teams in all of sports and we are excited to begin our partnership with them in Rancho Cucamonga," said Quakes Managing Partner Bobby Brett.

The affiliation is the third in franchise history for the Quakes, who were affiliated with the San Diego Padres from 1993 to 2000 and then with the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim from 2001 to 2010.

"The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes will continue to be committed to providing affordable family entertainment," said Quakes General Manager Grant Riddle. "We believe that partnering with the Dodgers gives us the best chance of achieving long-term success, both on and off the field."

"We feel like the move to Rancho Cucamonga not only brings our High-A partner closer to Dodger Stadium, but is a strong fit for our organizational goals," said Dodger Assistant General Manager De Jon Watson. "We're excited to partner with Brett Sports and look forward to a long-lasting relationship."

The Dodgers, who've been affiliated with the Inland Empire 66ers for the last four years, will be entering into their fifth consecutive year in the California League. The team has enjoyed a California League affiliate for all but six years (2001-2006) since 1963, with teams in San Bernardino, Bakersfield, Lodi and Santa Barbara.

The Quakes are excited to kick off the new partnership with a visit from Hall of Fame Manager Tommy Lasorda and other Dodger guests, coming up on Tuesday, October 5th, from 11:30am to 1:30pm. The event will be free to the public and will be held right here at The Epicenter.
