Quakes and Dodgers Extend Affiliation

September 6, 2012

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The Rancho Cucamonga Quakes and the Los Angeles Dodgers are proud to announce that they have agreed to extend their Player Development Contract (PDC) for two years, through the 2014 season.

The 2013 season will be the Quakes' third with the Dodgers and their 21st in the California League.

The first two seasons of partnership have been very exciting, with the Quakes producing an overall record of 148-132. In 2011, the Quakes set a franchise record by winning 80 games, taking both the First Half and the Second Half South Division Pennants. This 2012 season saw the Quakes tie for the First Half South crown, but miss out on the post-season by virtue of the tie-breaker.

"The Dodgers have been a great partner of the Quakes and we are committed to each other's success on and off the field," said Rancho Cucamonga Vice President-General Manager Grant Riddle. "We are thrilled to continue our partnership and look forward to many exciting years together."

The buzz of 2012 was helped in part by 14 Dodger players that came to rehab in Rancho Cucamonga. Superstars Matt Kemp and Andre Ethier were just some of the big names that put on the Quakes' uniform and played in front of the great fans at The Epicenter!

"The Quakes have been a great partner and we're thrilled to continue our relationship," said Assistant General Manager, Player Development De Jon Watson Watson. "Their great fans, their playing surface and the improvements to the stadium have made the Epicenter a great place to groom our future Dodgers."

The 2012 Quakes' season just completed this week, but it's not too early to start thinking about 2013, with the Quakes opening the season at The Epicenter on Thursday, April 4th, against the Lake Elsinore Storm.
