Quakes Reveal 2012 Roster

April 2, 2012
Rancho Cucamonga, CA - With the Quakes' home opener just a few days away, the Los Angeles Dodgers have announced this year's minor league rosters, including the 2012 edition of the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes.

A total of 12 players who saw time in a Quakes' uniform last year will return to Rancho.

Lefthander Chris Reed, who was drafted out of Stanford in the first round last year, is one of the 12 returners. Ranked as the fifth-best Dodgers' prospect by Baseball America, Reed will be a part of what will be regarded as one of the best rotations in minor league baseball, as he'll join another former first-rounder, righty Zach Lee, who is ranked by Baseball America as the Dodgers' top overall prospect. The remainder of the rotation will include 2011 Quake Andres Santiago, as well as another pair of highly-regarded prospects, RHP Garrett Gould (ranked 6th) and RHP Angel Sanchez (ranked 12th).

Filling out the bullpen are 2011 Quakes Logan Bawcom, Freddie Cabrera, Scott McGough, Bret Montgomery, and lefthanders Jordan Roberts and Greg Wilborn. New to the Quakes this year and working out of the pen will be Juan Rodriguez and P.J. Zocchi.

Other second-year Quakes include infielders Tony Delmonico, Austin Gallagher and Pedro Guerrero, along with catcher Michael Pericht.

The remainder of the roster will be filled out by catcher Christopher O'Brien, infielders Tyler Henson, Charlie Mirabal and C.J. Retherford, outfielders Nick Akins, Jonathan Garcia (ranked 13th), Casio Grider and Leon Landry.

Catcher Stephen Cilladi and infielder Chris Jacobs will both be listed on the Quakes' roster, but will open the season on the disabled list.

The Quakes will take on Azusa Pacific University on Tuesday night at 5:05pm, in a seven-inning exhibition match-up, before hosting division-rival Inland Empire on Thursday. Thursday's home opener will be highlighted by Opening Night Fireworks, Buffalo Wild Wings Thirsty Thursday and Allstar KIA Magnet Schedules given away to fans in attendance.
