Quakes with Three Post-Season All-Stars

Rancho Cucamonga, CA - The California League announced their 2011 Post-Season All-Star Team today, with three Quakes being honored.

Manager Juan Bustabad has been named the California League Manager of the Year. Bustabad, who was named the Midwest League Manager of the Year just last season, has led the Quakes to a First Half South Division Title and an overall record of 74-58 with just eight games remaining in the regular season.

Outfielder/first baseman Angelo Songco was named as the Cal League's Designated Hitter. The Granada Hills native has had a career-year, batting .312 with a team-high 26 home runs and 100 RBIs. His career-high 26 round-trippers rank second in the Cal League and his 100 RBIs are fourth, also a personal best.

Pitcher JonMichael Redding has also enjoyed a stellar season, leading the team in wins (11), strikeouts (124) and innings pitched (133 2/3). His overall record is 11-6 and he carries the second best ERA in the entire league at 3.16.

Kent Matthes of Modesto (.334 avg., 23 HR, 95 RBIs) was named as the league's MVP, while San Jose standout Gary Brown (.334 avg., 12 HR, 78 RBIs, 49 SB) was named the Rookie of the Year. Modesto hurler Chad Bettis has been named the league's Pitcher of the Year, posting a 12-5 record with a 3.44 ERA, currently ranking second in the league in strikeouts with 175.
