2,876 show up to watch Rawhide beat 66ers, 4-2
July 5, 2012

VISALIA - The Rawhide provided more than enough fireworks of their own to beat the Inland Empire 66ers 4-2 in front of a record crowd on Tuesday night at Rawhide Ballpark.

Bradin Hagens (W, 1-2) was spectacular in his second start for the 'Hide, twirling 5.0 innings of shutout ball, allowing just two hits. Hagens was a bit erratic with his command, allowing five walks. However he was consistently able to work out of jams and allow his defense to pick him up.

The Rawhide got on the board in the 2nd inning, thanks to some key errors from the 66er's defense. Raoul Torrez stole second base after he was walked, and Raywilly Gomez singled to drive Torrez in to put the Rawhide up 1-0. Gomez was able to move to second base on a poor throw from the right fielder. That allowed Ender Inciarte to single in Gomez to put the Rawhide up 2-0.

The Rawhide offense was not done yet, as they were able to plate runs in the 3rd and 4th innings. That is all the offense the Rawhide would require, as the pitching staff took care of the rest.

Bo Schultz (S, 11) was summoned in the 9th inning for the save opportunity and did not disappoint. After allowing a two-out single to Jett Bandy, he got Brennan Gowens to ground out to Mike Freeman to seal the victory for the Rawhide.
