Columbus, GA - The Catfish have received pitcher Travis Risser from Hudson Valley. To make room for Risser, the Catfish have sent Glenn Gibson to Hudson Valley.

Risser, a 23 year old right hander, was signed by the Rays as a non-drafted free agent on October 23rd, 2007. Risser began the season with Columbus and was 0-0 with a 1.64 ERA with 5 saves in 5 chances. Risser has appeared in 13 games with Hudson Valley and is 1-1 with a 1.45 ERA.

Gibson, a 20 year old left hander, came over as part of the Elijah Dukes trade in the off season and has struggled to build on the momentum from his strong 2007 season. Gibson is 4-8 with a 7.44 ERA in 22 appearances, 12 starts.

The Catfish are the Class-A affiliate of the Tampa Bay Rays.
