CHARLESTON, S.C. - Joseph P. Riley, Jr. Park is renowned nationally as one of the finest and most picturesque atmospheres in Minor League Baseball.  Next June, the South Atlantic League's best will be on display for all eyes to see.

The RiverDogs and SAL have jointly announced that the club will host the 53rd edition of the SAL All-Star Game. Presented by the Charleston Restaurant Association in conjunction with Force Protection Industries, the game will be held on Tuesday, June 19 at The Joe.

This marks the fourth time that Riley Park has hosted the SAL's Midsummer Classic, having also done so in 1998, 2000 and 2004.

"The Charleston RiverDogs are extremely proud to serve once again as the host for the South Atlantic League's All-Star Game," said General Manager Dave Echols.  "We know that Charleston is one of the friendliest cities in America and one of the league's premier destination cities, and we will certainly roll out the red carpet for the players, coaches, fans and sponsors.  We will also highlight many of the Lowcountry's great restaurants and culinary experiences while saluting our military personnel."

As part of All-Star Week, a Welcome Party is scheduled for Sunday, June 17 at Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina.  Monday, June 18, will be highlighted by the All-Star Golf Tournament at Patriots Point Golf Club beginning at 8 am.  On Tuesday, June 19, game day festivities feature an Awards Luncheon, the 2012 FanFest and Home Run Derby (pregame) and the All-Star Game's first pitch is slated for 7:35.  The game will not only be followed by a spectacular fireworks display, but also a Postgame Bash that features live music at Charleston Harbor Resort & Marina.
