Roling Named Player Of The Week

Big week produces honor
June 26, 2012
Tulsa Drillers first baseman Kiel Roling has been named the Texas League Player of the Week for his performance June 18-24.

Roling batted .368 during the week while posting an impressive .842 slugging percentage. Not only did the slugging right hander have hits, but as his slugging percentage shows, they were big hits. Of his seven base hits, he had only two singles. Roling collected three doubles to go along with two homeruns and six runs batted in.

The Tulsa first baseman's most impressive game came on June 21 when he went 3-4 at the plate with a double and a homer. In two pinch-hitting appearances, Roling came through when called upon, going a perfect 2-2 with a double, a home run, and 2 runs batted in.

Right-hander, Jarred Cosart, for the Corpus Christi Hooks earned Pitcher of the Week honors.

After the three-day break for the Texas League All-Star Game, the Drillers will return to action on Friday, June 29 in San Antonio and will return to Tulsa on Thursday, July 5th at 7:05 to host the Missions in a three game series at ONEOK Field.
