Royals Announce 2010 Promotions Schedule

OMAHA, NE - The Omaha Royals announced today the promotions schedule for their 2010 "Fun Rules" season will include 16 post-game fireworks shows on Friday and Saturday nights. The season's presenting sponsor, Werner Enterprises, will sponsor nine Fireworks Fridays. The final Omaha World-Herald Fireworks Spectacular at Rosenblatt Stadium will be held on Saturday, July 3rd. The ZOOperstars! will perform during that 6:35 p.m. game vs. the Iowa Cubs, which is also presented by the City of Omaha and the Omaha Royals.

AT&T will present the final game at Rosenblatt, slated for Thursday, September 2nd at 7:05 p.m., when the Royals face the Round Rock Express. The first 2,500 fans will receive replica seats of the old, wooden seats that had been used at the historic ballpark in previous seasons. The momentous occasion will conclude with a fireworks show.

Many other unique giveaways are on tap for 2010. Royals magnet schedules go to the first 2,500 fans on Opening Night, Thursday, April 8th, courtesy of Innovation Research. On Saturday, April 24th, the first 1,500 fans will receive George Brett powder blue jerseys, presented by ConAgra. Johnny Rosenblatt Bobbleheads go to the first 1,500 fans on Saturday, May 22nd, courtesy of Coca-Cola. On Sunday, June 13th, the first 1,500 fans receive a Rosenblatt canvas painting, presented by Lockheed Martin. The first 1,000 kids 12-and-under on Sunday, August 8th get a backpack in the shape of a catcher's chest protector, brought to you by Nebraska Orthopaedic Hospital.

Two post-game concerts will again be featured in 2010. The annual concert presented by Werner Enterprises will feature a nationally-known rock band (to be announced soon), is slated for Friday, July 23rd and is co-presented by 96.1 The Brew. The Faith and Family Night concert is set for Saturday, August 7th, and features Rebecca St. James, presented by Walking Together Lutheran Ministries, Cox and KGBI 100.7 FM.

The Royals schedule features three auctions of game-worn, autographed players' jerseys to benefit charities. On Saturday, June 5th, retro Golden Spikes jerseys which will be auctioned to fans to benefit The Boys and Girls Club, presented by Taco Bell. On Saturday, June 12th, baby blue jerseys will be auctioned to raise money for cancer research, presented by Stay in the Game Get Screened for Colon Cancer. And on Friday, August 27th, pink jerseys will be auctioned to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, presented by Aflac.

The Royals offer many promotions designed to save fans money. The first 50 kids 12-and-under at every home game will receive General Admission tickets for just $1, courtesy of Centris Federal Credit Union. Monday nights feature $1 hot dogs, presented by Rotella's and 89.7 The River. 2Buck 2uesdays allow fans to buy General Admission tickets, normally priced at $7 apiece, for just $2 courtesy of ValPak, CD 105.9 and The Reader. Kids Eat Free on Wednesdays, with all kids 12-and-under receiving a free meal voucher for each game ticket purchased, presented by Subway, Star 104.5, the CW KXVO and The Omaha Newspapers. The Royals eleven Thursday night home games are billed as "Thirsty Thursdays", when fans will enjoy $1 beers and Cokes, courtesy of 96.1 The Brew, Action 3 News and The City Weekly. Family FUNdays on Sundays are brought to you by U.S. Bank, KGBI 100.7 FM, KPTM Fox 42 and Family Spectrum Magazine. The five 12:05 p.m. weekday games feature half-price burgers, courtesy of Omaha Steaks and KFAB. For a $10 membership, Subway Kids Club members get free admission to all Wednesday and Sunday games and the Coca-Cola Fun Zone costs only $1.
