Royals name MiLB hitting coordinator
"Terry has been an integral part in the success of our young, Minor League hitters as they have progressed through our system and reached Kansas City," said Royals director of player development, Scott Sharp. "He now will have the ability to positively impact our hitters throughout all levels of the organization."
Bradshaw has served as the Naturals hitting coach for the past four years. Prior to joining the Naturals, Bradshaw spent five years as the hitting coach for Royals Triple-A franchise in Omaha. The 43-year old-Franklin, a Va. native, previously spent four years as hitting coach for three other Kansas City affiliates: Wilmington (Class A Advanced, 2002-2003), Burlington (Rookie-level, 2001) and Charleston (Class A, 2000).
Bradshaw began his professional playing career after he was a ninth round Draft pick by St. Louis in 1990. He spent eight years playing in the Cardinals system, including two brief stops at the Major League level during the 1995 and 1996 seasons. In 65 Major League at-bats over 34 games, the outfielder hit .262.
The 2012 season marked Bradshaw's fifth in the Texas League (four as a coach, one as a player). He was a member of the 1994 Arkansas Travelers, where he earned a spot on the league's postseason All-Star team.
