Rummage sale Saturday; Vendor space available

November 5, 2012
(WHITAKER BANK BALLPARK, Lexington, Ky.) How much "stuff" can a professional sports operation accumulate in 12 years?

The Lexington Legends are answering that question with a Rummage Sale at Whitaker Bank Ballpark this Saturday. Hundreds of items, large and small, that have been in storage at the ballpark will be on display and available for purchase during the rummage sale from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, November 10.

From caps, jackets, batting helmets and other gear, unopened sets of baseball cards, game programs, clubhouse signage and souvenirs to the furniture formerly used in the Kentucky Ale Tap Room and much more, the sale offers fans an opportunity to own at least a small part of the history of the Legends, who recently completed their 12th season. Many other discoveries will be made as preparations for the sale continue throughout the week.

The Legends also are offering space for those who have items to sell. For $20, vendors may rent one 18' x 18' space (the equivalent of two standard ballpark parking spaces). Each additional space would cost $10. For more information about the sale, including details of the vendor agreement, contact Sarah Bosso at (859) 422-7855.

"It's been quite an adventure digging through 12 years of our ballpark storage" said Bosso, the Legends' director of community relations and special events, who is organizing the sale. "Every day I find something new. There are definitely some treasures! We are excited for fans to be able to own a small piece of our rich history and encourage folks to join us by renting a space."

Mad Dawg's and Triple Play Catering will be on site selling a variety of food items (cash only for food transactions). Goodwill Industries of Kentucky will collect unsold items after the sale concludes.

In the event of bad weather, a cancellation would be determined and announced by the Legends.
