One of the keys to being a successful pitcher is the ability to bounce back.

Having a short memory and not dwelling on mistakes are just two of the things that should be on any good young hurler's resume, right alongside being able to throw an inside fastball or first-pitch changeup.

Enter top Blue Jays prospect Aaron Sanchez.

Sanchez allowed four hits and a walk while striking out four batters over seven innings in the Class A Advanced Dunedin Blue Jays' 8-0 win over the Clearwater Threshers.

MLB.com's No. 22 prospect entered the game coming off his worst outing of the season after being tagged for six runs over 2 2/3 innings in Brevard County on Saturday. In Thursday's contest, the 21-year-old California native committed three errors, but he bounced back to escape further trouble.

Sanchez made a throwing error to allow the game's first batter, Carlos Alonso, to reach safely. Then there were consecutive miscues in the fourth when he tried to throw out Aaron Altherr at first base and later tried to pick him off second.

The first-rounder did not allow a hit until the fifth. Cameron Perkins led off the frame with a line drive to left field. Harold Martinez followed with a base hit to right field two batters later, but the 6-foot-4 right-hander worked out of the jam.

Sanchez allowed two more hits in the seventh -- a leadoff double to Cameron Perkins was erased on a double play and Martinez singled again -- but he completed his night by inducing a popup off the bat of Jonathan Roof.

The victory helped Sanchez, selected by the Blue Jays 34th overall in the 2010 Draft, improve to 4-5 on the year and lower his ERA to 3.34.

Ajay Meyer worked around a hit in the eighth and Blake McFarland struck out two batters in the ninth to seal the shutout.

Clearwater's Hoby Milner (12-7) yielded three runs on eight hits and a walk while striking out five batter over five innings.
