White Sox infielder continues to rise to meet new challenges

White Sox infield prospect Carlos Sanchez, ranked seventh in the team's Top 20, plated four runs as part of a 2-for-4 performance to lead the Rafters past the Solar Sox. Salt River first baseman Matthew Skole (Nationals) added two hits, two RBIs, a pair of runs scored and a walk to lift his fall average to .321 and fellow Washington prospect Anthony Rendon -- MLB.com's No. 33 prospect -- doubled twice and scored twice. Ryan Perry (Nationals) improved to 2-0 after allowing one run on three hits and three walks over four innings. Jiovanni Mier (Astros) was 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored for Mesa, while baseball's No. 10 prospect Nick Castellanos (Tigers) plated three runs. Recap | Gameday box score

Surprise 4, Scottsdale 3
Saguaros starter Kevin Siegrist (Cardinals) struck out eight batters over four innings of one-run ball as the hosts rallied to beat the Scorpions. Siegrist surrendered four hits and a walk in lowering his ERA to 2.37, but he did not factor in the decision. Leadoff hitter Mike O'Neill (Cardinals) reached base three times and plated one run, and catcher Kellin Deglan (Rangers) slugged a two-run homer -- his first longball of the fall -- in the win. Scottsdale's Gift Ngoepe (Pirates) hit a two-run homer and Giants' No. 6 prospect Joe Panik was 2-for-4 with a steal of home. Recap | Gameday box score

Brewers third-rounder Josh Prince was 2-for-3 with a triple and two runs scored, second baseman Grant Green (A's) plated a pair out of the No. 5 spot and Nick Ahmed (Braves) reached base safely three times, scored two runs and drove in another as the Desert Dogs edged the Javelinas. Michael Brady (Marlins) earned the win in relief after working a perfect sixth inning. Starter Nick Bucci (Brewers) surrendered four runs -- three earned -- on three hits and four walks while fanning two batters over three innings. Peoria third baseman Cody Asche, the Phillies' No. 18 prospect was 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored and MLB.com's No. 14 prospect Billy Hamilton stole his 10th base of the year in a losing effort.
