Senators slip past Richmond 3-2

On Wednesday night, in the completion of the game started on Tuesday, the Senators slipped past Richmond 3-2 earning a split in the two-game series. Brad Peacock picked up the resumption in the bottom of the first and pitched 5.2 scoreless innings in earning his ninth win on the season.

Tim Pahuta hit a solo home run, his fifth, to break a scoreless tie in the fifth inning. Chris McConnell doubled in two runs in the seventh giving the Sens a 3-0 lead. Josh Johnson and McConnell had two hits in the win.

Rafael Martin, Patrick McCoy and Pat Lehman all pitched in relief for Harrisburg. Lehman pitched the final 1.1 innings and picked up his second save with the Senators.

Peacock struck out six, walked three and allowed just a single hit in the game. It was the third time this season he has started the resumption of a suspended game.

Earlier Wednesday, five Senators were named to the Western Division All-Star Team in the Eastern League All-Star game and they were OF Archie Gilbert, INF Tyler Moore, OF Bill Rhinehart, RHP Brad Peacock and RHP Erik Arnesen.

The Senators road trip continues on Thursday night at 6:35 p.m. in New Britain, CT with the first of five games in four days against the Rock Cats with RH Erik Arnesen on the hill for the Senators.
