Clinton, IA - A one-hour made-for-television show on the 1919 Black Sox scandal filmed at Clinton's own Alliant Energy Field premieres on the MLB Network on Saturday, November 13 at 8:00 PM central time.
"Triumph and Tragedy: The 1919 Chicago White Sox" was filmed by MLB Productions Senior Producer Jeff Spaulding in conjunction with Joe Scherrman and the "Ghost Players" of Dyersville, IA. Alliant Energy Field was chosen as the backdrop for all action shots based on its historic dugouts, grandstand and playing surface, all perfect as a stand-in for old Comiskey Park.
Ghost Players Ron (Hank) Lucas, Nic Hunt, Ted Kruse, Mike Schuster and Dubuque, IA native Nic Ungs all participated in the shoot back on September 26. Ungs, a 12th round pick by the Florida Marlins in 2001 out of the University of Northern Iowa pitched in Clinton as a member of the Kane County Cougars in 2002. The right-hander was with Florida's double-A affiliate in Jacksonville, FL last season.
