Skole, Suns Bombard Crawdads 12-4

Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (20-15) used Matt Skole's 4-for-4, five RBI performance to set the tone in a 12-4 win over the Hickory Crawdads (19-16) at L.P. Frans Stadium in Hickory, North Carolina on Tuesday night.

It was Skole's second four-hit game of the season, this time blasting a pair of home runs and finishing a triple shy of the cycle with five RBIs. Skole upped his RBI total to a league-high 40 and climbed up to second in the SAL's home run race with eight on the year. Right fielder Steven Souza went 3-for-5 with two doubles, a home run and three RBIs in his first game back from the disabled list. First baseman Justin Miller blasted a home run in his third consecutive game and drove in a pair of runs.

Suns starter Kylin Turnbull (1-2) earned his first win of the season, dealing five innings while allowing three runs on seven hits, one walk and four strike outs.

Hickory starting pitcher Santo Perez (2-2) suffered the loss, giving up seven runs over 3.0+ innings. Crawdads' third baseman Hanser Alberto was 1-for-4 with an RBI double for the losers.

The Suns will conclude the series and their road-trip on Wednesday morning at 11:00 a.m. when RHP Nathan Karns (0-0) is slated to start for Hagerstown. Right-hander Luke Jackson (2-3) will get the nod for Hickory.
