Snappers Add to Front Office Staff

November 20, 2012
Along with the positive changes to the stadium occurring this off season, the Beloit Snappers have added two new members to the team, Director of Corporate Sales and Promotions, Bill Czaja, and Head Groundskeeper, Zach Ricketts. In addition, Chrissy Scaffidi's role has turned into two roles, with Scaffidi's main focus now primarily Community Relations.

Czaja is a veteran front-office employee with 17 years of experience in professional baseball. He spent the last 11 seasons with the independent Rockford RiverHawks in multiple roles, including Director of Broadcasting, Sales and Media Relations. Czaja was a finalist for BallparkDigest.com's Broadcaster of the Year award in 2011. He also worked for MLB-affiliated clubs in Missoula, Mont., Burlington, N.C. and Huntington, W.Va. and independent teams in Johnstown, Pa. and Lubbock, Texas. Czaja is a Michigan native and a graduate of Eastern Michigan University. He lives in Loves Park with his wife Pamela and Max the cat. He is an active member of the Pitch and Hit Club of Chicago.

Ricketts is entering his first season as the Snappers head groundskeeper.  He will be in charge of making sure the field is maintained at a professional level.  Prior to joining the Snappers, Zach had internships in the Midwest league with the Burlington Bees and in the Major leagues with the Boston Red Sox, and most recently, the Milwaukee Brewers. He received his degree in environmental studies, with a self-created minor in field management from Knox College.  He is from Galesburg, Illinois.

Matthew Bosen will return for his second season as General Manager of the Class-A Affiliate of the Oakland Athletics and Katie Pietrowiak will continue as the Director of Ticket Operations and Merchandise.

Opening Day 2013 at Pohlman Field is set for Thursday, April 11 at 6:30 pm vs. the Burlington Bees. Continue to check our website at www.snappersbaseball.com for the latest information. Join us at Pohlman Field in 2013 for this exciting start to a new era of Snappers Baseball!
