Spike TV Films 'Pros Vs. Joes' At Zephyr Field

Segments included former MLB All-Stars Joe Carter and Brady Anderson
November 1, 2007
The national cable network Spike TV was at Zephyr Field recently to film segments for their hit TV show 'Pros vs. Joes.'

Producers filmed throwing and hitting competition segments at Zephyr Field that included former Major League Baseball All-Stars Joe Carter and Brady Anderson as the professional athletes competing against contestants in baseball challenges.

The format of the reality game show features three contestants - the 'Joes' - competing against a number of 'Pros' - generally retired professional athletes - in a series of challenges related to each pro player's sport.

Carter, a five-time All-Star, played for 16 years in the big leagues, but is best known for being a member of the Toronto Blue Jays and leading the team to back-to-back World Series Championships in 1992 and 1993, including hitting a walk-off three-run home run in the deciding Game 6 of the 1993 World Series to beat the Philadelphia Phillies.

Anderson was a three-time All-Star who had a 15-year career in the Major Leagues. An outfielder, Anderson played all but his final season with the Baltimore Orioles.

Also present for the filming of the show at Zephyr Field, though they did not participate in the baseball challenges, were former NFL stars Jeff George and Rocket Ismail and former NBA stars Sean Elliott and Kenny Anderson. The former football and basketball stars filmed segments at the Louisiana Superdome and New Orleans Arena for the show.

The segments filmed at Zephyr Field are scheduled to be featured in episodes 5 and 6 of the show's third season, which will begin airing in January 2008 on Thursday nights at 8:00 PM CT on Spike TV.
