STATE COLLEGE - A family of four attending a 2010 State College Spikes home game at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park will spend approximately $8 less than the industry average, according to a recent survey released by Minor League Baseball.

A survey of the 160 Minor League Baseball clubs in the U.S. and Canada that charge admission for their games found the average cost for a family of four to take in a Minor League Baseball game this season is just $57.70. When using the same factors to determine the industry average, families attending Spikes' games this summer will spend just $50.

The breakdown of Spikes pricing by the factors used in the survey is below.

2 Child Tickets........................ $10
4 Hot Dogs............................. $11
2 Sodas................................ $5
2 Beers................................ $9

"As an industry, Minor League Baseball is already the best value in each of the 160 markets across the United States and Canada," said Spikes General Manager Jason Dambach. "Here in State College, we're proud to be significantly more affordable than the already-low national average even before factoring in our money-saving daily promotional schedule, which will offer families even further savings at a Spikes game."

The Spikes' popular and nationally-acclaimed Daily Fan Value Promotions return in 2010 for the second year in a row, and offer fans money-saving promotions every day of the week. The roster of promotions starts with Dollar Dog Monday presented by 95.3 FM 3WZ, and continues with Buck Bleacher Tuesdays and Half Price Wednesdays, where fans can purchase half-price Outfield Bleacher tickets and half-price drink specials.

The list of Daily Fan Value Promotions also includes Kids Eat Free Thursdays presented by Dairy Queen Grill & Chill, where kids 12 and under will receive a voucher for a free hot dog, chips and small soda. 4 for $44 Fridays allow fans to purchase four Diamond Club tickets, four small sodas and four hot dogs for just $44. The value doesn't end on the weekend, either, with Scratch 'n' Win Saturdays, where every fan gets a scratch-off card and every card is a winner. Rounding out the value-packed schedule of promotions are Summer Blast-Off Sundays, with a postgame fireworks display to wow the crowd.

"Minor League Baseball continues to lead the way in providing affordable family entertainment to communities throughout the country," stated Minor League Baseball President Pat O'Conner. "At a time when many of our fans face the economic and social challenges of the day, we are pleased to offer a family-fun, community-oriented entertainment outlet that is so reasonably priced."
