Spinners detail deal with Coca-Cola

Coca-Cola gains non-alcoholic pouring rights at LeLacheur
January 18, 2013
LOWELL, Mass. -- The Lowell Spinners, Class A Short-Season affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, announced Friday that they have entered into a new 10-year partnership with Coca-Cola for the company to become the team's exclusive non-alcoholic beverage provider.

It is a reunion of sorts, as Coca-Cola was the beverage of choice during the Spinners' inaugural 1996 season at Alumni Field.

"We are pleased to enter into this long-term partnership with Coca-Cola," said Spinners owner, Drew Weber. "Coca-Cola's commitment to the Merrimack Valley and the Spinners shows what a great community partner we have. We look forward to fans enjoying the great products Coca-Cola offers when the Spinners open the 2013 home season June 19 at LeLacheur."

Based out of Lowell, Coca-Cola brings a local partnership back to the LeLacheur Park with an extensive line of brands. In addition to brand stalwarts, Coca-Cola and Diet Coke, the following products will be available at LeLacheur Park concession stands beginning this spring: Sprite, Sprite Zero, Coke Zero, Sunkist, Barq's Root Beer, Dr. Pepper, PowerAde, PowerAde Zero, Vitamin Water, Dasani Water and Minute Maid Juice.

As part of the partnership, Coca-Cola will be the presenting sponsor of each of the Spinners' "Friday Night Fireworks" pos-game shows, as well as the popular "Party Decks," LeLacheur Park's outdoor suites.

"For 16 years, the Spinners have been woven into the fabric of the community that is Lowell. The Coca-Cola Bottling Company of Lowell is pleased and excited to announce that once again it has become part of that fabric," said Lowell Coca-Cola general manager, David Omobono. "By partnering with the Spinners, Lowell Coca-Cola reinforces its commitment to the fans, and to the people of Lowell, that it is a local company that wants to be involved in making Lowell an enjoyable city to visit and reside [in]."

The Spinners will welcome Coca-Cola into LeLacheur Park as they kick-off their 18th season of baseball in Lowell, June 19 against the Connecticut Tigers. Mini-Plans, including the popular Fireworks nights, are available now at www.LowellSpinners.com online. Group and Season Tickets are also available, while individual tickets will go on sale in March.
