Spinners Set Dental Flossing WORLD RECORD!

3,014 flossers clean their way into the record books!
June 22, 2011

The Lowell Spinners, Class A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, want YOU to join us and the Massachusetts Dental Society (MDS) for "Floss Night" with the Spinners, Wednesday, June 29. The event will feature thousands of fans flossing their teeth simultaneously, using Glide floss picks donated to the MDS by Procter and Gamble.

Spinners fans are no strangers to World Record attempts, having taken in part in previous World Record attempts for the most people simultaneously popping bubble wrap as part of 2010's "Celebration of 50 Years of Bubble Wrap," and the world's largest game of Duck, Duck Goose August 14, 2004 (recognized by the Guinness Book of World Records).

"We are very excited at the possibility of yet another World Record coming through LeLacheur Park," said Spinners Master of Fun Jon Goode. "We're in the business of creating memories and being part of a World Record is sure to be a moment fans will remember for years to come!"

Fans will receive their free Glide floss pick upon entry to LeLacheur Park, but be asked to hold back their excitement for flossing until the fourth inning. During the middle of the fourth inning, fans will be prompted to join the Spinners on-field MC, as well as Canaligator, Allie-Gator and more in attempting a new world record attempt. Fan-favorite Bristles will also be on hand for photos, autographs and more!

"While this is geared towards a fun promotion and a night to remember, it is also about promoting oral health," said Goode. "We are happy to partner with the MDS to make this exciting event happen at LeLacheur Park!"

Tickets for the game are available now at www.LowellSpinners.com or by phone at (978) 459-1702. For more information on the MDS, contact Bethann Dacey at [email protected].
