Stripling Named Pitcher of the Week

Second Pitcher Honored This Season

OGDEN - The Pioneer League announced Monday that Ogden Raptors starter Ross Stripling was named the league's Pitcher of the Week.

For the period of July 29 to August 5, Stripling started two games and threw six shutout innings. Over the two starts, the fifth-round pick allowed just one hit for his only baserunner and struck out six. He faced 19 batters for the week.

Stripling is the second hurler to win Pitcher of the Week for the Raptors. Kazuki Nishijima won the award for the period of July 16-23.

Stripling's ERA was lowered to 0.39 this week and his only earned run was in his first appearance on June 24. Since giving up the earned run, the Texas A&M product has allowed 12 hits and struck out 26 over 22 scoreless innings.
