(Reading, PA) – Professional wrestling is coming back to Reading, PA, and the R-Phils are pleased to announce that on Thursday, August 4, the club will hold a special “Tribute to Professional Wrestling” night, thanks to Rock Hits Y102. Headlining the night will be the appearance of WWE Hall-of-Famer Sunny, who will meet and greet fans at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Tickets for Thursday's game still remain and fans can call 610-370-BALL, log-on to www.readingphillies.com, or stop by the brand-new R-Phils ticket office located at FirstEnergy Stadium to purchase tickets.

Sunny made her WWE debut in 1994 as one-half of the Bodydonnas and over the years, she became one of the most popular females to ever set foot in a professional wrestling ring. The New Jersey native led three teams to a World Tag Team championship during her days as a manager in WWE, and won two WWE Slammy awards. On April 2, 2011, Sunny was inducted into the WWE Hall-of-Fame during the WWE’s special ceremony during Wrestle Mania weekend.

She, along with The Blue Meanie, who will also be on-hand for the evening, will throw-out a ceremonial first pitch, and then head over to VIST Finanancial Plaza where they will sign autographs during a special Meet & Greet for fans. Fans can purchase an 8x10 at the ballpark for just $5 to have autographed.

The Blue Meanie, a native of Philadelphia, PA, is known for his days as a wrestler in both ECW and WWE. He spent the majority of his wrestling career in ECW, and was a member of the popular wrestling group – the bWo.

Local wrestling promotion World Professional Wrestling (WPW) will also be on-hand for the night and entertain fans with some great post-game wrestling in VIST Financial Plaza. Fans will want to make sure they stick around after a thrilling post-game fireworks show, thanks to Pepsi, for wrestling matches from this Reading-based wrestling promotion. A list of matches will be announced closer to August 4.

Also, as part of the evening, fans 21-years-old and over will want to come out to America’s Classic Ballpark early to enjoy Happy Hour with $1 off all beers (5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.), thanks to Miller Lite. In addition, all fans will be treated to a great pre-game concert with 3 On the Tree on the Weston Center Winning Smiles Stage (5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.). The stage will be rocking for a great 90-minute musical performance.
