Suns Hammer GreenJackets 11-3

Hagerstown, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (17-12) used a six-run second inning and a five-run fifth to blowout the Augusta GreenJackets (13-16), 11-3, at Municipal Stadium on Monday evening.

Suns starting pitcher Wirkin Estevez (4-1) remained perfect at home with a season-high seven innings, allowing three runs on seven hits. The Suns offense was lead by Jason Martinson and Brett Newsome, as each registered a pair of hits and three RBIs in the game. Cutter Dykstra notched his second four-hit game of the season, adding an RBI and a stolen base. In all, the Suns pounded out 17 hits and saw five batters enjoy multi-hit a game.

GreenJackets starter Paul Davis (2-1) suffered his first loss of the season, allowing six runs on seven hits over two innings. First baseman Ben Thomas went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI, while centerfielder John Eshleman had three singles and a run scored on the night.

The Suns will end their seven game home-stand against GreenJackets on Tuesday morning at 10:35 a.m. when LHP Kylin Turnbull (0-1) takes the hill against Augusta's LHP Edwin Escobar (1-1).
