Suns Lose 6-2, Swept by Delmarva

Salisbury, MD - The Hagerstown Suns (6-8) suffered their fifth straight loss and were swept in the three-game series by the Delmarva Shorebirds (9-5) after Wednesday night's 6-2 loss at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury, MD.

Shorebirds' starter Tim Berry (1-2) earned his first win of the season going 5.2 innings allowing two runs on six hits, one walk, and six strike outs. Reliever Jake Cowan (1) notched his first save of the season pitching 3.1 perfect innings to finish the game.

Delmarva first baseman Nicky Delmonico went 2-for-4 with a two-run double in the game while centerfielder Glynn Davis collected three hits and an RBI.

Suns starting pitcher Kylin Turnbull (0-1) suffered his first loss of the year allowing six runs on nine hits over 4.2 innings. Taylor Hill finished the game for the Suns with 3.1 scoreless innings of relief. Offensively, Hendry Jimenez went 2-for-4 with a two-run double for Hagerstown.

The Suns return home to Municipal Stadium on Thursday night to begin a four-game series with the Lakewood Blue Claws on a Thirsty Thursday, presented by Benny's Pub, at 7:05 p.m. Right-hander Chris McKenzie (0-1) will get the ball for the Suns against Lakewood's Colin Kleven (1-1).
