Tepera sharp again for Salt River

Rafters starter Ryan Tepera (Blue Jays) scattered five hits over five scoreless innings on Wednesday, but Mesa plated a pair of late runs to force a 2-2 tie in a game called after nine innings when both bullpens were depleted. The Solar Sox could not solve Tepera, who walked one and struck out five in his second scoreless start in the Arizona Fall League, but scored on an RBI double by Orioles No. 3 prospect Jonathan Schoop in the eighth and a base hit by Dodgers prospect Rafael Ynoa in the bottom of the ninth. Salt River's Jason Martinson (Nationals) put the Rafters on the board first when he doubled and scored on a base hit by Rockies prospect Corey Dickerson in the fifth, and Tyler Bortnick (D-backs) pushed the lead to 2-0 in the eighth, tripling and scoring on a throwing error. Scottsdale 6, Phoenix 2

Indians No. 5 prospect Ronny Rodriguez ripped a two-run triple as part of a four-run fourth inning and Chris Dominguez (Giants) added a solo homer in the fifth as the Scorpions took down Phoenix, 6-2. T.J. House (Indians) picked up his second win of the fall for Scottsdale, allowing a hit and a walk over four scoreless innings, striking out four. Surprise 6, Peoria 4

Cardinals prospect Colin Walsh tallied four RBIs and drove in the go-ahead runs with a base hit in the seventh as the Saguaros defeated Peoria, 6-4, to take possession of first place in the AFL's West Division. Walsh twice drove in Hanser Alberto (Rangers) who went 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs to record his fourth straight multi-hit game. Padres top prospect Rymer Liriano, Mariners No. 4 prospect Mike Zunino and M's No. 10 prospect Stefen Romero each drove a run for the Javelinas, who held a 3-0 advantage after the first inning.
