Thanks Fans For a Fantastic Season!

September 9, 2012

Thanks fans for a tremendous 10th year here in Albuquerque! Although the season didn't end quite the way everyone had hoped, the Isotopes still enjoyed a fantastic 2012 campaign both on and off the field.

Before embarking on a playoff run, the 'Topes concluded the regular season with a franchise-record-tying 80 wins to 64 losses. The club accumulated numerous awards throughout the stellar year including:

PCL All-Star Selections: John Ely, Josh Wall and Tim Federowicz
All-PCL Team: Jerry Sands, John Ely, Josh Wall and Tim Federowicz
Pitching Triple Crown: John Ely
Pitcher of the Year: John Ely
Manager of the Year: Lorenzo Bundy
Players of the Week: Jerry Sands and Alex Castellanos

The team, thanks to the fans' tremendous support, finished ranked third overall in total attendance with 568,417 patrons coming through the turnstiles, good for an incredible average of 8,120 fans per game.

Entering the postseason, the Isotopes were able to capture a series split in Omaha and mount one of the most epic comebacks in team history with a 12-10 come-from-behind victory in game four at Isotopes Park. The contest kept fans on their feet all night, while chants of "let's go 'Topes" help propel Albuquerque to its first postseason home win since the club's inaugural year in 2003.

And although it's never fun to tie a bow on an "unfinished" season, the 2012 campaign will always be one that's remembered as an all-around terrific year at The Lab.

Thanks again fans!
