Episode 20:
Three Strikes (starts at 3:15):
- MLB.com has updated its prospect rankings, and Sam and Tyler break it down by discussing the biggest risers and the placement of 2015 draftees among the new top 100.
- A pair of Triple-A transactions caught everyone's eyes in the past week as the Dodgers called up Jose Peraza from Oklahoma City and the Twins announced they were keeping Byron Buxton at Rochester after his rehab stint with the Red Wings. The duo discusses what that means for the two prospects.
- Indians No. 3 prospect Rob Kaminsky wrote a blog post, called "The Business of a Game," about what it was like to be traded from the Cardinals for Brandon Moss. On the podcast, the guys talk about the human costs of baseball trades.
Ben's Biz Banter (19:42)
- Back from his trip through the American South, Benjamin Hill talks with the guys about Triple-A Nashville's new stadium (First Tennessee Park), the diversity of his southern swing and what it's like to be a groundskeeper on an artifical turf field in West Virginia.
Final segment (31:41)
- Sam and Tyler turn their attentions to the Majors briefly to talk about Jeff Passan's story for Yahoo! in which Passan writes that baseball's rookie class of 2015 has become the greatest ever, according to WAR. The guys discuss how it's not only the usual suspects (Carlos Correa, Kris Bryant, Noah Syndergaard) that have made this class great, but that some unexpected stars (Jung-ho Kang, Matt Duffy, James McCann) have contributed in big ways as well.
