GRAND CHUTE, WI - Tyler Thornburg tossed six shutout innings and struck out seven as the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers beat the Beloit Snappers 6-1 in game one of a doubleheader on Thursday night. Thornburg won his third straight decision as he walked one and allowed three hits.

One out later Franklin Romero tripled to left-center to chase Walker home. An RBI grounder by Robbie Garvey sent Romero home for a 3-0 lead.

Dennis made the score 4-0 with an RBI double in the bottom of the fourth. Thornburg pitched a scoreless sixth inning and the Rattlers rewarded him with another run. Dennis singled to start the bottom of the sixth. Walker followed with an RBI double and Wisconsin went up 6-0. Both Dennis and Walker went 3-for-3 in the game.

Beloit did get on the scoreboard in the seventh inning on an RBI double by Lance Ray off Rattlers reliever Brian Garman. The Snappers looked primed to put something together in the seventh after a walk put runners at first and second with one out. But, Garman ended the game with a 6-4-3 double play.
