Tides fall to Indy, 11-3

Indianapolis slugged three home runs and pounded out 15 hits in an 11-3 win over the Tides Thursday afternoon.

Shelby Ford went 5-for-5 with a home run and two runs batted in to lead the Indians, while Neil Walker slugged two two-run homers as part of his three hits.

Andy Mitchell (9-3) had his five-game win streak snapped, as he allowed eight runs on nine hits in four innings of work. Mitchell walked one and struck out three.

Brandon Snyder paced Norfolk's seven-hit attack with two singles and a run batted in, while Justin Turner and Jeff Fiorentino each added a single and an RBI.

Snyder has now hit safely in eight straight games, hitting .419 (13-for-31) with seven RBI over that stretch.

The Tides and Indians will conclude their season series on Friday night, with first pitch scheduled for 7:15. Troy Patton (1-3, 6.00) will take the hill for the Tides.
