Tides fall to Louisville Tuesday

Louisville slugged three home runs en route to a 6-4 win over the Tides Tuesday night.

Drew Sutton, Craig Tatum and Kevin Barker each homered off of Norfolk starter Troy Patton (0-1), who was making his Tides debut after being promoted from Double-A Bowie on Sunday. Patton surrendered five runs on seven hits in six innings of work, walking two and striking out two.

Joey Gathright, Jeff Fiorentino and Steve Torrealba each had two hits for the Tides. Norfolk finished 0-for-12 with runners in scoring position in the contest, stranding eight men on base.

Ramon Ramirez (2-4) earned the win for Louisville, as he he allowed one earned run on six hits in five innings. Pedro Viola worked a perfect ninth inning to record his fourth save of the season.

Norfolk and Louisville will continue their four-game set on Wednesday with an 11:45 morning game scheduled from Slugger Field.
