Tides roll to Sunday win

Justin Turner homered and had four hits to lead Norfolk's 14-hit attack in a 7-1 win over Gwinnett Sunday.

Turner singled twice and doubled before connecting on a solo blast in the 7th inning, helping the Tides win for the fifth time in the last six games. Steve Torrealba also connected on a three-run homer in the contest, which marked the first time since May 19 that the Tides connected for multiple homers in a game

Jolbert Cabrera had three hits in the win, while Brandon Snyder had two hits and two runs batted in.

Norfolk starter Andy Mitchell improved to 6-2 with the win as he allowed one run on two hits in 5.2 innings of work. Mitchell worked around five walks and struck out two.

The Tides are now 5-0 on the road at Gwinnett this season.

Norfolk and Gwinnett will wrap up their series on Monday night, with first pitch scheduled for 7:00.
