Tigers Announce Town Hall Meeting

First of two Town Hall Meetings to be held at Norwich Holiday Inn on Saturday, April 17

Norwich, CT - The Connecticut Tigers of the New York-Penn League will hold a town-hall style forum on Saturday April 17, 2010 at the Holiday Inn in Norwich from 2:00- 3:30 P.M..

The forum will be a chance for fans and media to interact with members of the Tigers' front office and to ask questions or provide suggestions. In addition, the forum will allow the fans and media to get to know the staff in hopes of building a strong and lasting connection with the community.

"We're looking forward to giving our fans a chance to meet us and see what we're all about," said Tigers General Manager Andrew Weber. "We're also looking forward to hearing what they want to see at Dodd Stadium"

In addition, there will be a second town-hall style forum in the Mystic, Connecticut area prior to the start of the regular season, at a time and place to be determined.

The Connecticut Tigers pride themselves on being a valuable member of the community. Donations, mascot and player appearances, summer reading programs, baseball camps, and fundraising opportunities are just a few of the things the Tigers do to make a difference in the community.

The Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and begin play in the New York-Penn League in 2010 after re-locating to Norwich from Oneonta, New York after 44 seasons. The Tigers' home opener at Dodd Stadium will be June 26th at 7:05 P.M. against the Vermont Lake Monsters (Class-A affiliate of the Washington Nationals). The New-York Penn League is a short season Single-A league with 14 teams that play 76 games per year. Total attendance for the New York-Penn League in 2009 was 1,786,735.
