Rymer Liriano made a dazzling play to end the inning. With the infield in and a runner at third with one out, Alex Oliveras hit a flare to shallow right-center. Liriano, the right-fielder made a sliding catch, popped up and fired a one-hop strike to the plate to nail the runner and end the inning. Liriano had three outfield assists in the game.

In the 8th, Dayton scored the final run of the game on an RBI single by Rodriguez, pushing the Dayton lead to 7-3.
