Kinston, NC - Kinston starting pitcher T.J. McFarland is a Carolina League All-Star. The 21-year-old currently paces Carolina League Pitchers with a CL low 2.08 ERA. The Chicago native is 6-1, owning the second most wins in the league. McFarland also ranks fourth in the Carolina League in WHIP (1.05), walks per nine innings (1.82), fewest base runners per nine innings (8.76) and is fifth in the league in batting average against (.228). McFarland is 6-1 with a 2.08 ERA in 11 appearances (six starts). McFarland has given up just 14 earned runs in 60 2/3 innings this season. McFarland has struck out 37 and walked 11. He was a 4th round draft pick in 2007.
