Trayvon Robinson To Take Part In Triple-A Home Run Derby

July 7, 2011

Albuquerque Isotopes outfielder Trayvon Robinson is one of six sluggers taking part in the Triple-A Home Derby at Spring Mobile Ballpark in Salt Lake City on Monday, July 11 at 7:00 p.m. MT.

Robinson leads the Isotopes, is tied for the third in the PCL, and has already eclipsed a career-high with 20 home runs, nine of which came in a torrid month of June. On June 30, the outfielder belted two homers in a game at Omaha, becoming just the third Isotope to accomplish that feat this season.

The native of Los Angeles, California joins Iowa's Bryan LaHair (24 home runs) and Salt Lake's Jeff Baisley (17) on the Pacific Coast League side and Jorge Vazquez (29) from Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Gwinnett's Stefan Gartrell (27), and Charlotte's Dayan Viciedo (22) from the International League who will be swinging for the fences in this year's derby.

Robinson is the fifth Isotope to be selected to take part in the Triple-A Home Run Derby, joining Robert Stratton (2003), Valentino Pascucci (2007), Scott Seabol (2007), and Jay Gibbons (2010).

The Isotopes roll into the All-Star Break with an action-packed homestand that includes a backpack giveaway on Friday and the second fireworks show in six days on Saturday. Tickets for any Isotopes game may be purchased at the Isotopes Park Box Office, at Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 1-800-745-3000, or on-line at www.albuquerquebaseball.com or www.ticketmaster.com.
