Middlebrooks extends homer streak; Burres baffles Rainiers

Dodgers No. 13 prospect Alex Castellanos homered twice to give him a Pacific Coast League-leading 15 extra-base hits and power Albuquerque to a 6-1 win at Oklahoma City. Josh Fields and Tim Federowicz also had two RBIs apiece for the Isotopes, while Michael Antonini struck out seven over 5 2/3 innings for his first win of the season. Fernando Martinez drove in the RedHawks' lone run.

Eugenio Velez delivered an RBI double, then smacked a two-run homer in a nine-run eighth inning that carried Memphis to a 12-7 victory at Iowa. Adron Chambers also homered and doubled and drove in four runs for the Redbirds, while Cubs top prospect Anthony Rizzo collected three RBIs in a losing effort.

Luke Montz went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored and Marlins No. 11 prospect Kevin Mattison drove in two runs to lead New Orleans to an 8-5 triumph over visiting Round Rock. Bryan Petersen chipped in two hits and an RBI and scored twice for the Zephyrs, while Rangers No. 4 prospect Leonys Martin homered and drove in three runs in a losing cause.

Jarrod Dyson hit a walk-off single in the 13th inning as Omaha outlasted Nashville, 6-5. Clint Robinson smacked a two-run homer and Kevin Kouzmanoff doubled twice and also had two RBIs for the Storm Chasers. Logan Schafer homered and scored three times and Caleb Gindl also went yard for the Sounds.

Vince Belnome's walk-off single in the ninth inning capped the biggest comeback in team history as Tucson roared past Salt Lake, 9-8. Sawyer Carroll fell a double shy of the cycle, drove in four runs and scored three times for the Padres, who trailed, 8-0, in the sixth. Jorge Cantu was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for the Bees.

Brian Burres hurled seven innings and combined with Mitch Lively on Fresno's first one-hit shutout in nearly seven years, a 12-0 romp over Tacoma. Giants No. 10 prospect Conor Gillaspie led a season-high 19-hit attack by going 5-for-6 with an RBI and two runs scored for the Grizzlies. Luis Antonio Jimenez singled in the fourth for the Rainiers' lone hit.

Blue Jays No. 16 prospect Adeiny Hechavarria singled home Ruben Gotay in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Las Vegas a 9-8 win over Colorado Springs. Travis Snider fell a triple shy of the cycle, drove in three runs and scored twice to raise his average to .450. Sky Sox third baseman Jordan Pacheco also needed a triple for the cycle and had a pair of RBIs.

Amid rumors of a looming Major League callup, A's top prospect Jarrod Parker pitched 2 2/3 scoreless innings as Sacramento blanked Reno, 6-0. Chris Carter drove in two runs for the River Cats, while Randy Ruiz and Taylor Harbin had the hits for the Aces.

Red Sox top prospect Will Middlebrooks homered for the fourth straight game and grabbed a share of the Minor League lead with his 21st and 22nd RBIs as Pawtucket defeated Durham, 9-5. Mauro Gomez went deep for the third time in two days and drove in three runs for the PawSox, who have won six in a row. Brandon Guyer collected three more hits for the Bulls and is 11-for-17 in his last four games.

Matt Hague went 3-for-5 with two RBIs and two runs scored as Indianapolis cruised to a 9-1 win at Louisville. Pirates No. 3 prospect Starling Marte, Miles Durham and Brandon Boggs also drove in two runs apiece for the Indians, who got five scoreless innings from Jo-Jo Reyes. Denis Phipps had two of the Bats' four hits.

Former International League MVP Russ Canzler collected a career-high five hits, including a triple, and scored twice in Columbus' 12-6 victory at Toledo. Lonnie Chisenhall drove in three runs and Zach McAllister struck out eight over five innings for the Clippers. Ryan Strieby had two RBIs for the Mud Hens.

Charlie Shirek allowed a run on three hits over seven innings for his third win as Charlotte shut down Gwinnett, 3-1. Dan Johnson slugged his sixth homer and White Sox No. 20 prospect Josh Phegley went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the Knights. Josh Wilson plated the Braves' lone run.
