Turner wins Zephyrs' debut; Tribe's Locke shuts down Bisons

Dodgers No. 11 prospect Alex Castellanos went 3-for-5 with a pair of homers and a season-high five RBIs, powering Albuquerque to a 13-3 thumping of Nashville. Jerry Sands contributed four hits, including a solo homer, and scored twice, while Elian Herrera drove in three runs for the Isotopes. Brewers No. 17 prospect Caleb Gindl had two hits, an RBI and a run scored for the Sounds.

Marlins top prospect Jacob Turner allowed one run on two hits and three walks over five innings in his first start in the Marlins system as New Orleans edged Iowa, 2-1. Chris Aguila hit a solo homer for the Zephyrs, while Cubs top prospect Brett Jackson homered in a losing effort.

Elio Sarmiento went 3-for-4 with two RBIs and two runs scored, leading Round Rock to an 8-4 victory over Memphis. Julio Borbon chipped in two hits, including a double, and an RBI for the Express, while Steven Hill doubled twice, scored twice and drove in a run for the Redbirds.

Alex White struck out eight over eight strong innings as Colorado Springs rolled past Fresno, 10-1. Matt McBride fell a triple shy of the cycle, drove in three runs and scored twice for the Sky Sox, who also got three hits and three RBIs from Charlie Blackmon. Todd Linden drove in the Grizzlies' only run.

Brett Wallace smacked a three-run homer and scored twice in Oklahoma City's 6-2 triumph over visiting Omaha. Astros No. 4 prospect Matt Dominguez doubled, singled and drove in two runs for the RedHawks, while Royals No. 2 prospect Wil Myers went 2-for-3 with his Minor League-leading 30th homer for the Storm Chasers.

Shawn Hill gave up five hits over seven scoreless innings to improve to 6-0 as Las Vegas defeated Salt Lake, 7-2. Danny Perales slugged a two-run homer and David Cooper added a solo shot for the 51s, while pinch-hitter Robinzon Diaz delivered an RBI double for the Bees.

Kila Ka'aihue homered twice and drove in five runs as visiting Sacramento cruised to a 13-4 rout of Reno. Josh Donaldson went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and three runs scored for the River Cats, who got six solid innings from Dan Straily. Jake Elmore drove in two runs for the Aces.

Darren Ford went 4-for-5 with six RBIs and scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the ninth inning as Tacoma edged Tucson, 8-7. Mike Wilson chipped in two hits and scored twice for the Rainiers, while Andy Parrino was 3-for-4 with a pair of RBIs for the Padres.

Pirates No. 7 prospect Jeff Locke allowed four hits over seven innings in Indianapolis' 6-0 win over Buffalo. Brandon Boggs went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored, while No. 6 prospect Tony Sanchez contributed a solo homer, a double and two runs scored for the Indians. Mets No. 3 prospect Jeurys Familia was roughed up for five earned runs on six hits in three innings for the Bisons.

Jayson Werth continued his rehab assignment and collected two hits and three RBIs as Syracuse bested Lehigh Valley, 6-4. Chad Tracy went 3-for-4 with an RBI and a run scored for the Chiefs, while Domonic Brown doubled and drove in a run for the IronPigs.

Cody Puckett's two-out grand slam highlighted a five-run ninth inning that pushed Louisville past Toledo, 8-4. Reds No. 6 prospect Neftali Soto went 2-for-5, scored twice and drove in the other run in the ninth for the Bats. The loss spoiled a solid start by Tigers No. 14 prospect Adam Wilk, who yielded one run on six hits over 7 1/3 innings.

Matt Carson homered twice and drove in four runs, but it wasn't enough to keep Rochester from falling to Columbus, 8-5. Clippers leadoff man Ezequiel Carrera was 3-for-5 with a double, three RBIs and a run scored. Jared Goedert homered and drove in two runs for he winners.

Rays No. 2 prospect Chris Archer yielded one hit over four innings, setting the tone in Durham's 8-0 blanking of Norfolk. Rich Thompson set the table for the Bulls, going 4-for-5 with a double, two RBIs and a run scored, while Will Rhymes chipped in two hits and two RBIs. Orioles No. 14 prospect Joe Mahoney had the Tides' only extra-base hit with a double.

Felix Pie followed up Friday's six-RBI night by going 2-for-3 with a homer, double, two RBIs and three runs scored in Gwinnett's 5-3 victory at Charlotte. Terry Tiffee also went yard and drove in two runs for the Braves, who got five solid innings from Miguel Batista. Dallas McPherson stroked a solo homer for the Knights.
