Triple-A roundup: Loewen homers twice

Buffalo right fielder Adam Loewen hit two home runs and had six RBIs, but the Bisons didn't pick up the 10-9 win over Pawtucket until Jordany Valdespin hit a walk-off single in the bottom of the 10th inning in International League action. The Red Sox's top prospect Will Middlebrooks went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBIs, while rehabbing southpaw Andrew Miller allowed four earned runs in just one-third of an inning.

Indianapolis first baseman Jeremy Farrell outscored Toledo alone with three RBIs -- two on a double -- in the Indians' 9-2 win in the first game of Sunday's doubleheader between the two squads. Former Major Leaguer Jo-Jo Reyes earned his first Minor League win since 2010 after allowing only two runs over 5 2/3 innings.

But it the Mud Hens got their revenge in the second game, winning in 10 innings, 4-3. After the two squads traded a run apiece in the ninth, Toledo second baseman Argenis Diaz singled in Gorkys Hernandez for the eventual game-winner. Brad Eldred, Danny Worth and Jerad Head had solo homers for the visiting Mud Hens.

No. 12 Orioles prospect Ryan Adams went 2-for-5 with a double and an RBI in Norfolk's 4-3 win over Charlotte. Tides starting pitcher Jason Berken struck out five over five shutout innings, but did not factor in the decision. The White Sox's No. 20 prospect Josh Phegley provided the visiting Knights' offense with a three-run homer in the sixth.

Dave Bush allowed just one run over five innings and Phillippe Aumont earned his fourth save of the year in Lehigh Valley's 3-1 win over Rochester. Domonic Brown and Cody Overbeck both went 2-for-4 with an RBI for the IronPigs. Four different Red Wings had multi-hit days, but designated hitter Matt Rizzotti recorded the team's only RBI.

Mark Teahen gathered four hits and Carlos Rivero added two RBIs for Syracuse in its 7-2 win over Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Chiefs starter Mitch Atkins scattered three hits and one run in seven innings to earn his first win of the year and lower his season ERA to 0.75. Third baseman Steve Pearce was the only Yankees player with a multi-hit game with a 2-for-4 outing.

No. 8 hitter Felix Perez hit a two-RBI double as part of a four-run sixth during Louisville's 5-3 victory at home over Columbus. First baseman Daniel Dorn hit his third home run of the year, and the Reds' No. 6 prospect Todd Frazier added an RBI for the Bats. Designated hitter Beau Mills hit a two-run homer and right fielder Trevor Crowe went 3-for-4 with two doubles in the Clippers' losing effort.

Five Durham pitchers combined to allow just one run in the Bulls' 5-1 win over Gwinnett. The Rays' No. 13 prospect Brandon Guyer and catcher Nevin Ashley both had two-RBI days. Cleanup hitter Ernesto Mejia went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI for the Braves.

In Pacific Coast League play, Mike Trout went 3-for-3 with a triple, a stolen base and a run and Robinson Diaz hit a three-run homer in the seventh in Salt Lake's 5-4 win over Tucson. Garrett Richards lasted 7 2/3 innings for the Bees, allowing two runs and striking out six for his second win. James Darnell led the Padres with a two-run shot in the eighth.

A sacrifice fly by Matt Kata in the bottom of the 13th brought in Luis Hernandez for the winning run as Round Rock outlasted Iowa, 11-10. Luis Valbuena homered and provided four RBIs for the Express, while Tony Campana went 3-for-4 with a home run of his own. Brad Nelson drove in four runs for the I-Cubs.

Memphis nicked Oklahoma City, 4-3, as Adron Chambers picked up two RBIs and Jermaine Curtis scored twice and plated one for the Redbirds. Paul Clemens didn't factor into the decision for the RedHawks after allowing a run on three hits over six innings of one-run ball. He struck out five and walked two.

Nashville prevailed in another 13-inning game, topping New Orleans, 3-2, on a walk-off single by Jim Henderson. Edwin Maysonet collected four hits and Wily Peralta allowed one run on three hits over six innings for the Sounds. Luke Montz hit a game-tying homer in the ninth for the Zephyrs after coming in as a pinch-runner in the sixth.

Seven different hitters in Albuquerque's lineup recorded an RBI as the Isotopes beat Omaha, 9-7. Josh Bard led the way with a 4-for-4 showing and Josh Fields added two RBIs and a triple. Clint Robinson, Max Ramirez and Anthony Seratelli homered for the Storm Chasers.

Sacramento scored two runs in the seventh and one in the eighth to overcome Reno, 3-1. Grant Green doubled and Merkin Valdez earned a save for the River Cats. The Aces picked up two hits apiece from Evan Frey, Randy Ruiz and Ryan Wheeler.

Fresno cruised past Tacoma, 7-1. Justin Christian powered the Grizzlies with a 3-for-4 day, including two doubles. He drove in three runs and scored twice. Francisco Peguero added three more RBIs, while Travis Blackley earned the win with six strikeouts and one run allowed in 5 1/3 innings. Carlos Triunfel starred for the Rainiers, going 2-for-4 with a home run.
