Upgrades Aplenty at Metro Bank Park in 2010

Fans will find shorter lines for food and restrooms
January 22, 2010
In December 2008, the city of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Senators jointly announced a two-phase construction project to upgrade Metro Bank Park. Besides modernizing the park aesthetically, the project also greatly improves the amenities offered to fans. From food options to points of sale to bathrooms, the new park will have more of almost everything fans need to fully appreciate a night out at the ballpark.

There will be 21 locations from which to purchase food, a significant upgrade from the past. Along with the new food locations, the ballpark will now have a total of seven men's and women's restrooms, as opposed to one of each in the old facility.

The 21 locations for food are spaced all over the ballpark, and on different levels. There are two permanent concession stands in the new main seating structure, accounting for 14 of the 47 total points of sale. There is a new permanent concession stand in the new administration building, on the boardwalk in left field, with three points of sale. There were a record 21 points of sale in 2009, and that number increases to a minimum of 47 in 2010. On bigger nights, there will be over 70 points of sale to take care of hunger pangs for the fans attending Metro Bank Park.

The total number of commodes increases from 22 to 86, almost quadrupling. There are three new restroom locations on the new main level of the ballpark. There is a new location on the boardwalk in left field, and a location near the right field picnic area at the end of the boardwalk in right field. There is also a new location on the suite level for those in luxury suites and the press box.

Metro Bank Park is currently undergoing renovations as part of phase II of a two-phase project announced in December 2008 by the City of Harrisburg and the Harrisburg Senators.
