Van Kirk Has 4 Hits In 5-2 Win

Homers, Drives In 3 for Fisher Cats

(Manchester, NH)---Brian Van Kirk went 4-for-4 including a three-run homer, and Yohan Pino picked up his team-leading ninth win, as the Fisher Cats topped New Britain 5-2 on Friday night at Northeast Delta Dental Stadium.

The Fisher Cats (56-76) opened the scoring in the bottom of the second inning. Van Kirk singled and stole second. He moved to third on a groundout and scored on a single by Koby Clemens for a 1-0 lead.

New Hampshire extended the lead in the bottom of the third inning. Brad Glenn singled, John Tolisano singled and Van Kirk drilled a three-run homer for a 4-0 lead.

Clemens (2-for-4, HR, 2 RBI) hit the first pitch of the bottom of the fourth inning for his fifth home run and a 5-0 lead.

The Rock Cats (68-64) hit the scoreboard in the top of the sixth inning. Chris Colabello singled and Josmil Pinto homered.

Pino (9-7) worked the first seven innings, allowing nine hits and the two runs. He walked one and struck out four. Ron Uviedo worked a perfect eighth inning and Sam Dyson finished up for his ninth save.

Logan Darnell (9-12) took the loss for the Rock Cats.

Adam Lind continued his MLB rehab on Friday night, going 3-for-5 (three singles) as New Hampshire's lead-off hitter.
