BURLINGTON, VT --- Tyler Burnett and Daniel Adamson each hit a two-run homer in a four-run sixth inning to give Tri-City a 5-2 lead and the ValleyCats went on to defeat the Vermont Lake Monsters 8-3 in New York-Penn League action Monday night at historic Centennial Field.

After a groundout, hit batter and a flyout, Adamson smacked an 0-2 offering from Hansen over the leftcenter field fence for his two-run homer and a 5-2 ValleyCat lead. The home runs were the second of the season for both Burnett and Adamson.

The ValleyCats added two more runs in the seventh on a back-=to-back RBI singles from Hernandez and Burnett, then added another run in the ninth as Hernandez doubled and scored on a Mike Kvasnicka sacrifice fly. Vermont added a run in the bottom of the ninth on a Justin Miller triple and Cole Leonida RBI double.

After Tri-City had scored an unearned run off Hansen in the third inning, Vermont tied the game in the bottom of the third on a solo home run from Connor Rowe and then took the lead on a Jason Martinson RBI triple. The Lake Monsters had two triples on Monday and now have nine triples in the last four games after just nine in the first 33 games.

Hernandez was 3-for-5 with three runs and two doubles, whil Jacke Healey was 2-for-4 with one run and a double for Tri-City (15-21).
