Vote your favorite Cats into All-Star Game

June 14, 2011
Send your favorite River Cats to this year's Triple-A All-Star Game. This year's Mid-Summer Classic will be held in Salt Lake at Spring Mobile Park on July 13.

Voting continues through June 24.

The game pits the Pacific Coast League's All-Star's against the All-Stars from the International League. Currently, the International League leads the all-time series seven games to the PCL's six. The two leagues have played each other in the Triple-A All-Star game since 1998.

Many River Cats batters are worthy of representing the PCL (all stats through June 13).

  • Infielder Adrian Cardenas leads Sacramento with a .329 batting average and 72 hits.
  • Center fielder Jai Miller is fourth in the PCL with a .668 slugging percentage.
  • Catcher Anthony Recker leads all PCL catchers in batting average (.325), runs (41), home runs (11), slugging percentage (.579), on-base percentage (.410), and on-base plus slugging (.989). He is also fourth in RBIs (29).
  • Shortstop Eric Sogard leads the team in at-bats (240) and second in runs (39). Sogard also plays stellar defense, leading all shortstops with a .974 fielding percentage.

  • Starting pitcher Travis Banwart is second among PCL starters in batting average against (.235), second in base runners allowed per nine innings (11.57), and third in WHIP (1.26).

The River Cats bullpen has been stellar all season.
